BPA Texas Intern Program Update

We are excited to have 426 students participating in the Texas Intern program this year!  I know that we will have all stations well staffed and the enthusiasm of these young people will certainly make for a successful conference.  Advisors, please use these volunteers to make your jobs easier.  Interns, we hope you have a great time working the conference and getting to meet new people while you build your leadership skills.

Thank you to all who applied to the program.  We had no idea we would have such a huge response but we are thrilled that so many will be participating in this great leadership opportunity.

Thanks for your patience and please let me know if you have any questions.

We look forward to working with all of you in Ft. Worth.

Advisors:

We are looking forward to another great year with the Texas Intern Program.  This will be our third year to provide this opportunity and your students have been absolutely amazing.  Originally, the responsibility of applying to the program belonged to the students.  I have noticed that many of you encourage (or require) all of your state attendees to participate in the Intern program.  In an effort to make things easier for you, this year you may submit your students’ information as a chapter.  This will ensure that all students are approved by you and will save you some time.  I will still be creating a form for each student so that we can track their service hours and if you would like a copy of this you can let me know after the conference.  This procedure will hopefully make it easier for me to send you all of their service hour information as well.  Of course, students can still apply individually and I will be sending you a request to approve these on an individual basis.

Interns will again be compiling photos for the Photorama slide show to be viewed before the Awards session on Saturday.  This show will also be running at the BPA booth in the exhibit area.  We will have the BPA background set up in the exhibit area if you’d like to take chapter pictures.  We will also have Interns to take your chapter’s picture to be included in the slide show.  We want to be sure that everyone feels a part of the conference so be sure to come by Intern Headquarters at the Convention Center in Room 105 to download pictures of your chapter enjoying the fun in Ft. Worth.

Please encourage your students to participate in the Texas Intern Program.  The application and more information can be downloaded on the website www.texasbpa.com.  Please send all applications to interns@texasbpa.com by the deadline of February 14th.

Thank you for all of your hard work with your chapters this year and for sharing your students with us by encouraging them to participate in the program.
